A. Mountain–bike programme in the Cindrel Mountains

This programme is organiyed bz “Valea Cibinului” (The Cibin Valley) park rangers of Sibiu, under the aegis of The National Administration of the Forests institution to which Cindrel Mountains belong to.

The programme mainlz addresses to the foreign tourists as they have understood the necessity of touristic activities based on the protection and preservation of nature, as well as due to their wish to see them happening and recreate themselves in a natural and wild environment.

This programme last for 3 days and is eligible for groups of 4 to 10 persons.

b) The material base

  • Paltinis Cabin (Sycamore – Maple Grove Cabin) is the information centre where images of the area are presented;
  • Field equipment (means of transport etc.);
  • Media equipment.

c) The steps of the programme

The programme is structured in such a way that it comprises as many routes as possible, with different degree of difficulty, from 700 m to 2242 m altitude..

DAY I

  • The tourists are accommodated at “Paltinis” Cabin (Sycamore – Maple Grove Cabin), where images of the area are presented to them;
  • The routes and objectives that they are to cover are presented to them;
  • Lunch is served at “Paltinis” Cabin (Sycamore – Maple Grove Cabin);
  • Visit to Noica’s memorial house, to the hermitage, and a trip to accommodate oneself to “Poiana Muncel” (Muncel Clearing), “Gaujoara”, and “Paltinis” (Sycamore – Maple Grove Cabin).
  • Supper followed by the presentation of the programme for the next day.

DAY II

  • Bike route:
Paltinis – Pârâul Pietros – Steaza – Santa – Paltinis – 11 km followed by lunch at Paltinis Cabin;
  • After lunch, the following bike route is planned:
Telescaun – Soimii – Daneasa – Telescaun – 2 km followed by supper at Paltinis Cabin;

DAY III

  • The morning route:
Paltinis – Muncel – Tomnatic – Bobes – Santa – Paltinis – 20 km followed by lunch at Paltinis Cabin;
  • After lunch, the route:
Poteca Învatatorului – Daneasa – Paltinis – 10 km followed by supper at Paltinis Cabin;

d) Costs:
The cost of such a complete programme is 240 € for person.
